F10 BMW M5 twin-turbo V8 power

With a 560 horsepower twin-turbo V8 lurking under its hood, the 2012 BMW M5 is finally here. Although it might have two few cylinders than last year’s model, the latest M5 is significantly faster and the best-handling M5 yet.

A 4.4-liter V8 with an M-developed TwinPower Turbo Package features the M division’s latest technology combined with BMW’s turbocharging know-how. Power is rated at 560 horsepower available from 6,000 to 7,000 rpm, which should keep fans of the M-division’s high-revving engines satisfied. Torque delivery is at the opposite end of the spectrum: A full 502 lb-ft. is available from just 1,500 rpm free, BMW says, of any negative effects of turbo lag.

As a result, the M5 sprints to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds, or 124 mph in a mere 13 seconds flat. Its top speed is limited to 155 mph, although an available Driver’s Package will push that up to 190 mph.

Despite the power boost, BMW says that fuel consumption is down 30 percent thanks to a full complement of EfficientDynamics upgrades, like automatic start/stop and brake energy regeneration.

A robust seven-speed M Double Clutch automatic transmission with the company’s Drivelogic intelligence will be standard on M5s. Launch control, Low Speed Assistance and an M-specific gear lever help put the power to the rear wheels. One thing BMW has not mentioned is availability of a manual transmission.

Specially tuned steering works with the car’s Dynamic Damper Control and stability control with its own M Dynamic tuned mode and an M-specific active electronic locking rear differential to make the best of handling via electronic aids.

Myvi Elegance 2011 !

Finally, after many months of waiting, we would like to share some info on the new Perodua Myvi from Perodua. The new Perodua Myvi comes with 3 variants namely Standard, Premium and Elegance.

Eventhough, many said that the higher spec of 1.5l litre will be produced unfortunately this time around, only 1.3l were introduced. However based on the press report, Perodua might probably introduce the 1.5 variants soon based on the response given by customers.

The colour for Perodua Myvi Elegance only availabe in Mystical Purple, Ebony Black dan Ivory White only.

If you aspect major changes in the new Myvi compared to the old model, you are wrong. The different between the Myvi 2011 and its predecessor is basically on the visual. If you look at the spec sheet, the size is basically similar for example, they share the same track (front 1,455 mm, rear 1,465 mm) and wheelbase length (2,440 mm).

The new Perodua Myvi 2011 has 208 litres of boot size and it less 17 litres than the old Myvi. And if the rear seats are folded you will get a 595 litres of space, enough to carry a small washing machine in your new Myvi.

If you opt for the Elegance spec you will get a full colour 6-inch touch screen head unit with a GPS navigation. Perodua has pre-installed their service center location in the GPS unit, what a smart move by Perodua.

The Engine

Perodua retains the same engine K3-VE 1.3 litre DVVT twin-cam mill which delivers 90 hp at 6,000 rpm and 117 Nm at 4,400 rpm.

In Standard form, the car is available in SX five-speed manual and EZ four-speed auto guise, while Premium has the SXi manual and EZi auto, and the respective Elegance versions are the SXE and EZE.

The Price

The price for Standard unit starts at RM43,900 while the high spec Elegance is RM57,400.

How to book ?

Booking can be made at all Perodua dealers. Since 4th June, Perodua has collected 10,000 orders. It might take some time to reach you since, the production output is limited.

Myvi 2011 launched @PWTC

the Perodua Myvi five-door hatchback has been replaced by a new model that promises better safety, fuel efficiency and a string of new enhancements.

Launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin here last night, the new Myvi is available in six variants with prices between RM43,900 and RM57,400 some RM500 to RM700 more than the previous model.

Buyers can choose between three grades of Standard, Premium and Elegance and transmission type of four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual.

At the back, the car gets sleeker LED combination lamps.

On the outside, the height of the car is 5mm lower at 1,545mm than the old Myvi while the width has been retained at 1,665mm. The new Myvi is shorter in overall length by 60mm, and the sleeker front and rear bumpers make it look more compact.
Turning radius remains the same at 4.7m to ensure easy parking in tight spaces, easy cornering and U-turns and better maneoverability.

Buyers of the new Myvi will find the cabin a revelation.

The interior length is 15mm more than the old Myvi and this translates to extra legroom. In addition, the front-rear couple distance is 4mm more, resulting in more rear legroom for better comfort. On the other hand, the driver-passenger couple distance remains the same at 680mm.

Perodua engineers have managed to tweak the existing 1.3-litre engine for extra performance and the adoption of electric power steering plus improved aerodynamics all aid to make the car achieve more power while giving better mileage.

On the outside, the new Myvi has a deeper sloping bonnet and an air spat on the front bumper to make the car more fluid. Downward scoop accentuates the new projector headlamps.

new myvi 2011 instrument panel

the new myvi launched today. and the instrument panel is simply remarkable.

i like the way it lit up, instead of instantly lit up the panel, it slowly glows. weldone perodua..!!

besides it even calculates your fuel consumption. which is really amazing. no wonder the new myvi is so costly. adding all these stuff would mark up its cost.
